Stanislav Rubyteno – Quinta Lupinus

Emerging from the deep, as if progressively gaining strength, Stanislav Rubyteno’s one-track album “Quinta Lupinus” exposes the wide inner panorama of the author’s creative mind. This was released on Ukranian netlabel Umpako on 26th of April, 2011. As for the persona of Stanislav, he is the owner of Aventuel netlabel, and he’s writing music since 1998. The mentioned album, “Quinta Lupinus” is dedicated to the 25th anniversary of theChernobyltragedy, when the entire world learnt, how the other side of the peaceful atomic industry looks like. In the process of the creation such instruments as radio, mobile phone, cassettes, synthesizer and audio player were used. While listening to the whole 30 minutes thing, you are sure to get the mixed feelings of gloominess and apprehension; furthermore, some lucid and flanging images appear, turning one into another. For me personally, this music appeared before me flooded with saturated orange light, sometimes being sprinkled with some inexact corroded elements and subtle distortions. The sonic flow resembles a dream, when your mind is like a stroboscope, with flashing pictures, sudden changes in the environment and plexiform plots. I also must mark out the fibrillating organ or some other synthesized sound, which encompasses the whole album, and absorbs the other coexisting components.

Anshlavs – Father Of A New Sun

There is not so much information about the mentioned artist, Anshlavs. It is only known, that he is in prison since 2000 and after having got the access to a computer, he started writing music. Before losing his freedom, he was also interested in experimental music. So, many pages of Anshlavs’ life are indeterminate. Now, let’s proceed to his album “Father Of A New Sun”, released on Qulture Production label. The style is defined as the mixture of IDM, ambient and experimental. The tracklist is comprised by 20 tracks with the general duration of 1 hour and 17 minutes. Syncopated rythms together with stable and powerful ones, aggressive ambient drones together with light and fanciful ones – all that you can hear in this albim. I should also say, that this music could be a good accompaniment for a video game, with extraterrestrial adventures, ubiquitous dangers and mystic atmosphere. The experimental character of the album is good amplified by the cover picture, presumably self-made, with only a pencil and a sheet of paper. On it you can see a strange creature, some sharp-toothed hybrid of a human and a worm, that may be is the hero of the 17th and 18th tracks from the album. So, have a listen to Anshlavs’ “Father Of A New Sun”.

Blear Moon – Sauvignon Valley

A nice album to start a day with. Natural, free and easy, light and calming music, that will tune your mind and make it radiant. Blear Moon is a music project of Vlas Presnetsov, a young musician from Snezhinsk, a city at the center of Russia, on boundary of Europe and Asia. “Sauvignon Valley” is his debute album, released on Umpako label on 20.10.2010. The style is defined as electronic, piano miniatures, ambient with field recordings. To my mind, the whole mood of the album is rather optimistic and cheerful, and it reminds me of Pink Floyd’s “Cluster One” from the album “Division Bell”, though styles and manners are different. In this album every track is appreciable, but I would like to note two tracks: “Le Banc Dans Le Bois” and “Intracellularisan”, that fascinated me the most. These ambient pieces are filled with bright, sparkling sounds, and I feel in my mind the presence of some capacious and energetic image, that envelops me. You can hear somebody running from one place to another, something is squeaking and a baby is crying. Simple, but delicious and strong.
